Influenza (flu) vaccinations

As part of our employee benefits program, Curtin staff can access free Quadrivalent (4-strain) flu vaccinations through the Curtin Health Service or receive a vaccination reimbursement (up to $40). This benefit is available to all Curtin employees who are paid by Curtin.

Vaccination is recommended by WA's Department of Health as the best way to protect yourself from flu and encourages everyone to get vaccinated particularly pregnant women, the elderly, people with certain health conditions and health care workers (including staff/students doing health-related fieldwork).

There are two options available to staff:

Option 1

Curtin Staff can get their flu vaccination at no cost from the Curtin Health Service (Bentley campus) from 1 May 2017.

Appointments can be made from Tuesday 11 April with Appointuit online booking, or by downloading the free Appointuit App for smartphones. When prompted, you will need to select 'Practitioner of choice' and 'Flu vaccine clinic 1 or Flu vaccine clinic 2' then select a date between 1 May and 12 May 2017.  Alternatively please call Curtin Health Service on extension 7345 to arrange a 'flu clinic' appointment.

You will need to bring both your Staff ID card and Medicare card with you to your appointment

Option 2

You can arrange to get your flu vaccination through your own GP. In this case, the University will reimburse (via the Payroll system) up to $40 of the costs of the vaccination and the GP consultation (after deduction of the Medicare rebate amount).

To be reimbursed, you will need to:
